About Me

Hello there! I am Mike Turner, a Toronto-based web developer with 7 years professional experience. I began my career as a front-end developer specializing in XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript using libraries such as Prototype, jQuery and MooTools. Focusing on best practices for optimal user experience, over these past years I've researched accessibility techniques and have recently been studying information architecture.

In my current role I’ve had plenty opportunity to demonstrate my back-end development skills too. I’ve developed applications from a simple contest entry form, to PIN code prizing redemption, to a complete RSVP system used for events hosting over 8,000 guests.

Up until now my employment experience is strictly agency side. I very much enjoy working in an agency environment for the variety of work, and variety of skilled co-workers. The perks don’t hurt either.

Experience has led to managerial positions. As a Lead Front-End Developer where I’ve managed a team of front-end developers and as a Manager of Interactive Development I worked with a team of designers and developers building web applications, micro-sites and custom applications.
